==Lower Sorbian==
The oldest Sorbian Bible version, that of the New Testament of 1547, is extant in a manuscript in the Royal Library at Berlin. The translator was Miklawš Jakubica,〔Tone Glavan Lužiški Srbi - 1966 "Prvi, ki se je lotil pisanja v svojem jeziku, pravzaprav prevajanja v srbski jezik, je bil MIKLAWŠ JAKUBICA, ... Kdo je bil Miklawš Jakubica, avtor pomembnega lužiškosrbskega književnega spomenika, književni zgodovinarji še niso dognali .."〕 who employed a now-extinct dialect of Lower Sorbian.〔Theologische Realenzyklopädie: Volume 6 - Page 264 Horst Robert Balz, Gerhard Krause, Gerhard Müller - 1980 "Übersetzungen ins Sorbische (Wendische) Für die slavische Bevölkerung der Niederlausitz übersetzte Miklawusch Jakubica 1547 das Neue Testament aus dem Luthertext und einer tschechischen Bibel ins Niedersorbische."〕 In the 18th century :de:Johann Gottlieb Fabricius (:dsb:Jan Bogumił Fabricius), a German, made a translation of the New Testament which was printed in 1709. In a revised form this version was published by the British and Foreign Bible Society in 1860. The Old Testament, translated by J. F. Fritz, was printed at Cottbus in 1796.〔Text, Wort, Glaube: - Page 150 Kurt Aland, Martin Brecht "Damit war zugleich die letzte Gelegenheit verpaßt, die seit 1728 vorliegende obersorbische Vollbibel auch zur ... doch erst am Ende des Jahrhunderts (1796), während die erste Ausgabe der niedersorbischen Vollbibel durch JF Fritz und JSF Schindler gar bis 1824 auf sich"〕 An edition of the entire Bible was published by the Prussian Bible Society in 1868.
